Sunday Church is all about what began on that first Easter Sunday.

The stories told by the Gospels reveal how Jesus —through His death and resurrection— became King, flipping everything on its head.
These events opened a new reality for us: Heaven came to Earth. The Kingdom of God invaded the kingdom of men —challenging the wisdom of this world and sparking a new revolution with its upside-down values.
At the heart of this revolution is the gift of salvation —a gift of grace, not earned by works, but freely given through faith in Jesus.
And for those who believe in Him, the invitation is to step into the new life and new hope that is for both today and the future. Jesus‘s victory on that first Easter Sunday is what He made possible for us today —resurrection in the now and not yet— for both humanity and creation at large.
Nevertheless, we often forget that we live in a time and a world where Jesus is risen, where He is already Lord and King, and where new creation has begun and will be fully completed at His return. While the second coming will fulfil His work, it had certainly begun.
Here is where we find ourselves today, in the in-between, in the now and not yet. A time when the reality of the Kingdom of God continues to spread in the world through us, His Church. This is the story Luke writes about in his book, Acts.
In Acts 1, we see how Heaven and Earth came together in Jesus's resurrected physical body. This union is the very definition of Temple —the place where God’s presence dwells on Earth. Then, in a stunning moment in Acts 2, we see Heaven rushing down to fill Jesus's disciples with the Holy Spirit. Now, both Jesus and His disciples are the new temple, a place where God and humanity, Heaven and Earth, come together.
At Sunday Church, we believe we are to carry on with the kingdom work that Jesus in the Gospels, and the early Church in the book of Acts began, sharing the good news—in both word and deed —that Jesus is the world‘s new King and that His Kingdom is one ruled by love and truth.
Our prayer is to see followers of Jesus awakening as they find their place within Jesus’ story and mission. Our hope is to see people becoming Sunday People —Resurrection People—returning to faithfully loving Jesus, to the joy of life together, and to living under biblical truth, and to see them stepping into the Sunday life —the Resurrection life— empowered by the Holy Spirit to be people of love and peace, of joy and good news, of faithfulness and humility, of generosity and hospitality —bringing life, beauty, celebration, justice, and compassion to a world in need.
Sunday people love those around them sincerely, serve selflessly, and bring glimpses of eternity to this world, all while living under the present reality that Jesus is the world’s true Lord.
We invite you to join us on this life-long pilgrimage —becoming Sunday people together.

OUR
PILLARS
Discipleship.
Community.
Kingdom.
DISCIPLESHIP
Being a disciple of Jesus means becoming His apprentice. As we follow Him, we learn to shape our lives around three goals: being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did.
Following Jesus is a life-long pilgrimage. It’s more than just attending church on Sundays — it’s a way of life rooted in community and centered around Jesus’ teachings.
Our desire is that, as we walk in the way of Jesus, our lives, communities, neighborhoods, and city will experience true transformation and healing. In essence, spiritual formation is the process through which we become more like Jesus, allowing Christ to be formed in us.
With the help of the Practicing the Way resources, we learn and engage with the way Jesus lived, creating space for Him to transform and heal our hearts and character deeply. By adopting Jesus’ lifestyle, we aim to obey and put His teachings into practice across all areas of our lives.

COMMUNITY
We believe we are meant to live rooted in community, enjoying meaningful relationships with both God and others. This is an important part of what living the Sunday life means.
God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit exist in this beautiful, selfless and loving relationship. And in Genesis 2, we read that God made us in His likeness, meaning we were created for beautiful, selfless and loving relationships with Him and with each other. In fact, we aren’t fully humans if we try to do life alone—we literally need one another. Even discipleship is only possible when we follow Jesus together.
At Sunday Church, we deeply value community. We actively nurture family and friendships through hospitality, generosity, and by bringing prayer back into our gatherings and meals.

KINGDOM
From the very beginning, when God created Adam and Eve, He blessed them and commanded them to multiply, to be fruitful, and to rule over creation as His loving representatives.
Humanity was created to partner with God, entrusted with His good world. Although sin altered the course of this story, the divine calling to rule and reign remains at the core of who we are, followers of Jesus or not.
Now, we get to partner with Jesus as He continues to heal and redeem His world. While we hope for the day when all things will be fully restored, our invitation as humans and as followers of Jesus is to embrace our vocation and participate in the renewal of this world. The Bible’s story begins and ends with creation, showing us that what we do here matters to God—the way we approach our work, the kind of work environments we create, the way we care for creation, and the way we treat others, it deeply matters to God.
At Sunday Church, we seek to engage actively in serving our city, our neighborhoods, and our church community.

Our Story
Allow us to introduce ourselves!
We met at the end of our three-year journey at Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia. Long before we met, we each deeply loved Jesus and His Church, and this shared devotion is what brought us together. Mane is Guatemalan and I —Seb— am Swiss.
We've been prayerfully dreaming about Sunday Church for many years now and have spent 2024 working and nurturing what was planted in our hearts. We are now ready to open the doors as we share our vision for this new church plant. We now begin a community & team building phase and we look forward to welcome those who would like to consider planting with us.
Our heart is to see people come to know Jesus personally, to experience His love, and to respond to His invitation to be healed and transformed so that we can become useful and fruitful in His Kingdom. We are grateful that salvation is by grace and through faith in Jesus, and it is our deep desire to inspire Christians to live lives of faithfulness and love for Jesus.
Our vision is to create a space where people can follow Jesus within the context of a loving and sincere fellowship, continuing together to invite Heaven into our neighbourhoods, families, and city.
We are excited for the journey ahead.
